National Softball Association Girls Fastpitch League

Guidelines

o        1 to 6 teams, per age group – One (1) All-Star team

o        7 to 12 teams, per age group – Two (2) all-Star teams

o        13 to 18 team, per age group – Three (3) All-Star teams. And so on….

Example: A park has 5 teams in the 8U division, they would form one (1) All-Star team. Another park has 9 teams in 8U, they would form two (2) All-Star team.

Note: If a park meets the requirement to have multiple All-Star teams and does not have enough girls to do so, then the park may have put together as many as possible. (This must be done with the approval of the Area Director.)

NOTE: Parks that have girls playing on High School and/or Middle School teams may waive the "One Pre-Area Tournament Requirement". They may go straight to the Area Tournament. (This should apply to 12U/14U/16U & 18U). These teams may be announced no later than seven (7) days prior to the Area Tournament.

NOTE: The League State Tournament may be used to help satisfy the 8 game rule, only for girls that can verify that they were playing school ball and could not reasonably meet the 8 game requirement in time for the Area Tournament. This decision will be made by the Area Director.

NOTE: A park may have less than 11 players only with the approval of the NSA Youth State Director.

NOTE: Parks that have girls playing on High School and/or Middle School teams may waive the "One Pre-Area Tournament Requirement". They may go straight to the Area Tournament. (this should apply to 12U/14U/16U & 18U)
